Team Cutting Edge Illusions Bio:
Our team is a diverse group of dynamic people who have one thing in common: a passion for the best. We approach our work with a team philosophy. Every step of every job that we produce is solid and flawless due to countless hours of training and experience, talent, and keen attention to detail. Our work has been featured on the Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, SEMA Show Las Vegas, Sturgis, Bike Week, Local Newspapers, and many Magazines including V-Twin, Easyrider and Hot Bike just to name a few. We have done work for Walt Disney, Honda Motors, Arlen Ness and several chopper companies. We are certified with multiple automotive paint certifications, awards, and are fully supported by our manufacturers. In 2004 we were recognized by BASF Corporation for our superior skills and talent.
Solomon Harris:
Sales and Marketing, Design, Business Management and Customer Relations
Solomon acts as the backbone of Cutting Edge Illusions piecing together each project so it flows as smoothly and seamlessly as possible. With a strong business background, Solomon helps set Cutting Edge Illusions apart from other paint shops by combining the amazing work of our artists with his excellent project management skills and focus on customer service. From paint and lights design to aftermarket parts purchasing and product line development, Solomon can help you through every step of this process. He is great at listening to what each customer wants and working with our team here to translate this into an amazing, seamless design for each bike. Solomon keeps busy outside of work by chasing around his two kids, playing basketball, hiking in the Oregon Cascades and getting out on his 2003 VRod whenever possible.
Ariel Ballance:
Director of Support Services
Ariel oversees the day-to-day operations of our organization's support services. She works closely with existing clients and customers, monitors current and future projects, and coordinates with other members of management in how to best support their team and operations. She is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of efficient systems that allow us to provide our consistent, exemplary, customer-centered service. In her free time she enjoys finding the perfect vibe outdoors by either sipping cider on patio somewhere or shooting in the woods with her pitbull.
David Sebold:
Custom Painter, Fabrication, Clear Coat, Prep, Buff & Finish
David Sebold is jack-of-all-trades here at Cutting Edge. David leads our custom paint and aircraft services team. David started his paint career working in a body shop here in Eugene. He then went to Country Coach for several years painting custom paint jobs on their top of the line buses. Next, David worked at All-Pro Body here in Eugene doing car restorations and customizations. Here David’s focus is mainly on our airplanes and motorcycles. He has the ability to see a project all the way through from prep to artwork to buff which makes him incredibly valuable. When David isn’t working, he is out enjoying life to the fullest—everything from surfing in the Pacific and snowboarding in the Cascades to Scuba diving in Australia.
Dan Mayhew:
Fiberglass Specialist and Prep
Dan Mayhew specializes in manufacturing fiberglass body parts. Dan has many years of experience in fiberglass manufacturing and creates top of the line products that are both light and strong. Dan enjoys coming up with new part designs to keep our lineup fresh. He also supports our paint side of the business when he has time. He sandblasts, strips, sands, preps, and bodyworks all flaws found so that your parts are 100% ready for paint done right the first time. Dan’s unique outlook on life always adds color to the workday. Some of Dan's after-work and weekend activities include riding his quad, playing video games and supporting the Ducks.
Mike Vary:
Custom Painter, Designer, Airbrush Artist
Mike Vary is our very talented lead airbrush artist. He has been airbrushing since 1992 and has an amazing eye for mural work. Many of the realistic flames and smoke effects you see on our website were done by him. He has a very good eye for detail, a great hand with the airbrush and the drive to give each customer a true piece of art. Mike is also skilled at working with customers to turn their ideas into artwork. When not at the shop, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Amber and their two children, making moonshine and experimenting and exploring many genres of art.
Tom Turpin:
Aircraft Paint, Prep, and Fleet Services
Tom leverages many years of experience in a number of different types of shops to paint and prep aircrafts, fleet vehicles, and accessories.
John Moody:
RV Repair and Paint and Fleet Services
John leads our RV and Fleet service team. John brings a wealth of experience and knowledge including previously running an independent RV services business and extensive experience at Marathon Coach. When John is not working on making RV's beautiful he is fishing, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors.
Bill Wright:
Prep, Buffing, and Paint
Bill supports our RV, Fleet, Aircraft, and Custom services. Bill prepares parts for paint application and buffs and finishes parts after paint.
Eric Muller:
Industrial Services, Custom Painter, Fabrication, Clear Coat, Prep, Buff & Finish
Eric Muller leads the industrial services team at Cutting Edge Illusions. Formerly working in our Custom service buffing on the paint sets, quality checks the bodywork, welds, preps, primes the parts, sprays sealer, basecoat, and sprays kandy, Eric now focuses on supporting our industrial coatings customers. Eric is happily married and has a young daughter at home. He enjoys spending time riding quads at the Oregon Coast.
Bill Lavender:
Industrial Painter
Bill brings decades of experience in painting industrial products and equipment. Bill worked at several local plants including Visco. His ability to paint large volume fabricated steel components efficiently while maintaining high quality is unmatched. When not spraying, Bill is an avid fisherman. He enjoys taking on almost any challenge from restoring an old go cart to remodeling a home. Bill always stays active.
Tyler Haworth:
Industrial Services
Tyler supports our industrial services. He wears many hats including material handling and set-up, prep, priming, spot-ins and repairs, and maintenance. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys the company of his wife and daughter. Tyler is also an up and coming artist creating freelance art pieces on his spare time.
Michael Barnett:
Industrial Services
Michael also support our indsutrial services. He supports material handling and set-up and maintenance.
